People helping people, supporting sustainable recovery for everyone.
Welcome to the Beacons – a set of four Recovery Hubs based in South Lanarkshire. We believe wholeheartedly that recovery from substance use is possible for anyone. Our purpose is to bring together people with lived experience of substance use to create vibrant recovery communities throughout South Lanarkshire, who support each other and reach out to others who need help.
Each Beacon is a space to feel welcome, whether you’re coming in to attend a Recovery Group or simply looking for a safe space to have a chat with one of our volunteers or a member of our specialist staff team.
Whatever you choose, you will be treated with compassion, dignity and respect. The Beacons is somewhere to feel welcome.
At the Beacons we have a small team of dedicated volunteers who are involved in a range of activities - but we need more of you! If you have lived experience and you’re interested in giving some of your time to help others, then we’d love to hear from you. In return you can engage in a volunteering programme that will provide you with your own Personal Development and Support Plan which includes training and any support you need to start towards gaining qualifications in areas such as peer support, mentoring or coaching.
The people you meet as you come to The Beacons will be volunteers with lived experience; they will welcome you and make you feel at ease. You will never be pressured to do anything you don’t want to do. We want your Beacon to be a place where you can get to know people and enjoy an active social life.
